Here are the advantages of each smartphone:
Honor 9 Lite
+ Higher screen resolution
+ Higher pixel density
+ Better performing CPU
+ Better performing GPU
+ Higher front camera resolution
Huawei Nova 2 Lite
+ Larger screen size
+ Dedicated microSD card slot
+ Wider-angle front camera lens
The Nova 2 Lite has a larger screen size but that’s just about it. In terms of viewing experience, we normally prioritize the size but in this case, the Honor 9 Lite has a higher resolution with a better pixel density. If users aim to watch videos with a better quality, go with the latter since their eyes will be much more comfortable with it.
The Honor 9 Lite carries the signature Kirin 659 processor that are mostly equipped on Huawei’s midrange smartphones. The Nova 2 Lite, in this case, has Snapdragon 430 which can be considered entry-level. Based on the previous data that we have, users who want a smoother experience with their smartphones should pick the Kirin 659.
The Honor 9 Lite has a quad-camera setup while the Nova 2 Lite has dual rear and single front cameras. There’s not much to say except for the latter having a wider area of shoot coverage than the former.
Both smartphones’ battery capacities are the same so, we expect a close performance with each other. Unfortunately, they do not have fast charging capabilities so either of them could be the user’s choice.
For overall performance, the belt goes to Honor 9 Lite since it gives a better viewing experience and performance. The Nova 2 Lite has a larger screen size and a dedicated microSD card slot which is essential for some users.
