2019 European performance sedan comparison – Rational versus emotional: Alfa Romeo Giulia Q v Audi RS5 Sportback v BMW M3 Pure v Mercedes-AMG C63 S

Versatile yet visceral. Audi’s RS5 Sportback coupe-sedan crossbreed is the latest model to promise well-heeled petrolhead parents and ambitious executives a rare vehicle purchase that’s both rational and emotional.

The fastback-style Sportback is a first for the RS5 range that has previously been coupe and convertible only. With its concoction of practical five-door, five-seater body style, sophisticated technology and potent twin-turbo V6 engine, it aims to be a family car, executive car and sports car all in one.

Google Pixel 3a Review: A question of compromise

When it comes to smartphones, it’s easy to get caught up on the “more is best” treadmill. More megapixels, more gigabytes and gigahertz, more camera sensors… and more money, of course. Then along comes the Google Pixel 3a and slams the emergency stop button.

Where a Pixel 3 will set you back $799, the Pixel 3a is just $399. Even taking into account widespread promotional pricing, this new Android still significantly undercuts its bigger sibling. Yet while “midrange” can all too often be shorthand for a phone that’s under-powered, under-equipped, and generally underwhelming, here Google has achieved something very different.

Sony KD-85ZG9 8K TV review : Sony’s first foray into 8K is an absolute barnstormer

We’re in a real chicken and egg situation with 8K. Without more 8K TVs being sold, no one will be interested in streaming or broadcasting 8K content. And while there’s no 8K content to watch, few people can justify the extra outlay for an 8K TV.

And we are talking about a huge outlay. The Sony ZG9 is available in two sizes, the biggest of which (98in) will set you back £85,000. The smaller, 85in ZG9 is cheap by comparison, but at £14,000, it’s still £9000 more expensive than Sony’s top 4K LCD, the KD-85XG9505.

Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro matches OnePlus 7 Pro and Galaxy S10 Plus in this key spec

Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro’s high-end configuration will equal the OnePlus 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus in terms of the top amount of RAM.

With this major specs bump, we hope to see smooth performance — but as our reviews show, RAM alone doesn’t always predict the best performing phone.

Moto Z4 announced: How does it compare to the Moto Z3?

After Amazon accidentally shipped out the device before it was even announced, Motorola has acted quickly to make the Moto Z4 official.

Those hoping the Moto Z4 would be a return to the flagship space for Motorola might be slightly disappointed as this smartphone sits firmly in the mid-range competing against the Honor 20, OnePlus 7and Pixel 3a. That might not be an issue though, as it still seems like an interesting device for those who still believe in the Moto Mod future.

Design and Construction

Cherry Mobile pulled all the stops in utilizing phone with elegant plastic and glass combination, making it a standout in the brand’s device portfolio. The use of glass on the back is a sight to behold, given that most phones in this price range have polycarbonate shells.

First Sprint 5G Speed Tests: More Reliable Than Verizon

Editor’s note: Updated 6:15 p.m. ET on May 30 with more impressions from on-the-ground testing of Sprint’s 5G network.

DALLAS — Sprint is blanketing four metropolitan areas with 5G today (May 30), with five more cities coming online soon. So how fast is Sprint’s 5G?

I tested LG’s V50 ThinQ 5G, the first 5G smartphone on Sprint’s network, in Dallas to see if Sprint’s approach to 5G is faster or more reliable (or both) than Verizon’s millimeter-wave 5G network, which we’ve tested twice in Chicago in recent weeks.

You might want to skip the Note 10 and wait for the Galaxy S11 if this ‘leak’ is correct

The latest Samsung leak reveals a revolutionary camera upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S11 — and if it skips the Note 10 as rumoured, then you might want to too.

Ice Universe, the Twitter tipster, claims that the new Samsung Galaxy S11 will boast a much-improved sensor. If true it’s one of Samsung’s biggest flagship camera upgrades for four years, and your pictures should have far more detail than before. But the sucker punch is that this all-new sensor won’t feature on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, expected to be released in October 2019.

Avita’s Sleek New Laptop is One of the Best Surprises of Computex

I admit, my expectations were low walking into Avita’s booth at Computex 2019. The company’s first pair of laptops, the Clarus and Liber, felt derivative, which all but confirmed my fears that Avita would be just another brand selling MacBook lookalikes at a low price.

avita

However, after spending some hands-on time with the new Admiror, it feels like the Hong Kong-based company has turned a corner. Spelling error aside, the Admiror is a genuinely compelling laptop with a unique design that should appeal to students and creative professionals who want their tech stand out.

Samsung Q900 smart TV review: This 8K TV will make you forget all about 4K

There’s very little 8K video content to be had, but this gem of a TV shows it off in spectacular fashion. The Q900 can also upscale lower-resolution content with aplomb.

Now that I’ve seen Samsung’s 8K UHD Q900—the company’s best TV to date—I’m truly regret that the industry didn’t just skip over the 4K generation (2160p) and jump straight from HD (1080p) to 8K (4320p). It’s not that the best 4K TVs look bad, it’s just that 8K gets darn close to the life-like detail that’s been the goal of high-definition TV from the start.
