Hands on: ZTE Blade V8 Mini review

paJWHWgoqnrMYsoesQ4CCQ-1200-80

The ZTE Blade V8 Mini offers one of the cheapest ways to upgrade to the latest version of Google’s operating system and walk away with a dual-lens camera.

The ultra-affordable Android 7.0 Nougat smartphone that we tested at MWC 2017 is the lighter variant of the ZTE Blade V8 Pro revealed at CES 2017.

It’s interesting to see how quickly flagship features on the iPhone and Samsung devices features from a year ago can come to budget handsets.

The ZTE Blade V8 Mini doesn’t have the most powerful specs, of course, but it’s plenty for people who are casual phone owners who want a fancy camera.

Design and display

The ZTE Blade V8 Mini has a 5-inch HD screen, meaning its at the lower 720p resolution. It’s more powerful than the ZTE Blade V8 Lite, but it lacks in pixel count.

Galaxy Tab S3 Packs HDR Screen and S Pen, But Is It Enough?

Tablet sales continue to plummet. Why? People love their big-screen phones, and folks are simply holding onto their slates longer than before.

[su_youtube url=”https://youtu.be/pqxRoCA0uPQ”]Picture 10 of 12[/su_youtube]

But Samsung hopes to jump-start the category with the Galaxy Tab S3, which focuses on entertainment and productivity. Samsung hasn’t announced pricing or availability for the Android tablet yet, but we expect this slate to be on the premium side when it launches.

The Tab S3 stands out from other Android tablets in two ways. First, it boasts a gorgeous display that supports HDR. And, second, it comes with an enhanced S Pen.

The most striking aspect of the Tab S3 is its 9.7-inch Super AMOLED screen. In addition to quad HD+ resolution, this vibrant panel has high dynamic range, which means you get a wider range of colors and better contrast than a typical tablet’s screen.

2018 Mercedes S-Class Coupe Review

Mercedes brought back the S-Class Coupe for the 2015 model year and with it came the best design, technology, and luxury features the German automaker had to offer at the time. It was heavily based on the S-Class Coupe Concept that debuted in Frankfurt back in 2014 and came with one of two engines: a 3.0-liter V-6 with 367 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque or a 4.7-liter V-8 with 449 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. It’s only been a couple of years since the new S-Classentered the market, and Mercedes is now busy preparing the car’s first facelift – a venture that should manifest itself for the 2018 model year. Little is known about the facelift at this point but considering it’s Mercedes that we’re talking about, there isn’t going to be much. Expect to see new exterior light units, new front and rear fascias, and a few minor changes inside – maybe even a new instrument cluster or steering wheel.

With that said, we’ve already seen shots of the sedan test mule putting in work, and now we’re finally laying our eyes on its Coupe sibling. It’s not wearing any camo, but it does sport an unfinished front fascia and a little bit of tape over the rear lights. It’s time of debut has yet to be announced, but considering this facelift will be of the minimalist nature, and it’s slated for the 2018 model year, sometime in the third quarter of this year sounds like a good prediction. So, let’s dive on in and see what the updated S-Class Coupe is working with.

Hands-on with the Alcatel U5, A3, and A5 LED

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Hands-on with the Alcatel U5, A3, and A5 LED

We are here at MWC 2017, and Alcatel just unveiled their latest smartphone offerings. Unlike previous years, where the company had a star in the “premium mid-range” Idol series, this time around, Alcatel is focusing on bolstering their low-end and mid-range, and most importantly, ultra affordable, smartphone portfolio. We go hands on and give you a quick look at the Alcatel U5, A3, and A5 LED!

Alcatel U5

Starting with the Alcatel U5, the device features decidedly low-end specifications, including a 5-inch display with a 480 x 854, a quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of on-board storage, microSD card support, and a 2,050 mAh battery. The U5, and the other devices on this list, will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, which isn’t great to see, regardless of how affordable these phones may be.

Hands on: LG X Power2 review

The LG G6 has impressed us, but it’s almost certain that phone won’t last two whole days from a single charge.

To try and make up for it, LG has also made the X Power2, a mid-range phone that should be able to last you a whole weekend on a full charge.

The X Power2 was launched just in time for MWC 2017 and we’ve had some time to try out the phone briefly at the show.

LG X Power 2 price and release date

ZCeCBb99esDgYyMeXm5kaN-650-80

LG’s latest X Power2 is expected to go on sale in Latin America in March with a rollout across the US and  Europe to follow. Expect it to be April or later before we get to buy the X Power2.

There’s also no word if you’ll be able to buy the phone in Australia.

Hands-on Review : Lenovo’s new Tab 4 Android tablets

lenovo tab 4 family

Here at MWC 2017 in Barcelona, Lenovo has just introduced their Tab 4 series of Android tablets. Apart from including the standard 8-inch and 10-inch iterations of the Tab 4, the company has also unveiled premium “Plus” editions of the tablets that bring more power, quality, and features to the table. What does the Lenovo Tab 4 series have to offer? Let’s find out!

Both the 8-inch and 10-inch iterations of the regular Tab 4 devices come with IPS LCD displays with a HD resolution, and are powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, backed by 2 GB of RAM. The specs have received an upgrade when compared to their predecessors, but these tablets remain lower-end, and therefore, more affordable. Lenovo doesn’t skimp on features that add to its media-consumption capabilities though, with both coming with dual front-facing speaker setups with support for Dolby ATMOS features.

Lenovo Miix 320 2-in-1 Hands-on Review : First Impression – Better Screen, Better Touchpad

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Lenovo Miix 320 Hands-on

At last year’s Mobile World Congress, Lenovo introduced the Miix 310, a 2-in-1 that promised 10 hours of battery life in a low-priced portable. Lenovo’s back this year, with a new version of the Miix that ups some of the specs on the detachable Windows 10 hybrid while keeping the price tag at a minuscule size.

Lenovo’s Miix 320 arrives this April starting at $199. With this latest version, Lenovo says it’s upped the overall quality of the 2-in-1, including improvements to the display and the addition of a precision touchpad to the device’s docking keyboard.

The Miix 320 now features a 1920 x 1200 Full HD display, an improvement over the 1280 x 800 resolution on last year’s model. One of our complaints when we reviewed that version of the Miix was that the screen was too reflective so we’re eager to see if the improved resolution addresses that issue.

Kamerar Zoom Lens Kit for iPhone 7 Plus review

If you’re shopping for accessory lenses, for most iPhone models the choice can be overwhelming. The lenses on offer range from cheap plastic variants for very little money to hefty high-quality glass in metal bodies that require a three-figure investment. However, the situation is slightly different for Apple’s current flagship, the iPhone 7 Plus. Because of the unique design of its dual-camera there are currently still very few attachment lenses on the market. That said, we’ve had a chance to have a closer look at one of the first available options, the Kamerar Zoom Lens kit.

For $50 the kit includes a protective case for the iPhone, two lens modules that slide into the case and two small protective lens-cases. The first module combines a fisheye-adapter for the iPhone’s wide-angle lens with a tele-converter for the longer lens in the dual-cam. The fisheye offers a 160 degree angle of view and the converter comes with a 1.5x zoom factor, giving the 7 Plus tele lens a total zoom factor of 3x when compared to the wide-angle. The second module has two macro lenses that apply a 10x magnification to both iPhone camera lenses.

2017 Aston Martin Vantage S Red Bull Racing Edition Review

In 2016, Aston Martin returned to Formula One for the first time since 1960 thanks to a partnership with Red Bull Racing. Although the British firm is just a logo on Red Bull’s race cars for now, the cooperation was actually signed for the AM-RB 001 supercar that just debuted at the Canadian Auto Show and will arrive in production form sometime in 2018. With the 2017 Formula One championship just around the corner, Aston Martin decided to mark its presence in this sport with the Red Bull Racing Editions for the V8 Vantage S and V12 Vantage S models.

Fitted with a range of distinguishing features for the most devoted Formula 1 enthusiast, these special editions were crafted with help from the marque’s in-house personalization program, Q by Aston Martin. Modifications aren’t exactly outstanding compared to the regular model, but Aston Martin added a few exclusive features inside and out and the cars can be ordered with signatures from Red Bull Racing drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen.

JBL Everest Elite 700 Headphones Platinum Review

It’s been 70 years since James B. Lansing left Altec Lansing to found Lansing Sound, the company that bears his initials today. A lot changed in that time and these days JBL is just one of the many hi-fi companies that are part of the Harman family that was recently purchased by Samsung. To celebrate the 70-year milestone, JBL launched a new “platinum” variation on one of the finest wireless headphones made. The Everest Elite 700 is JBL’s flagship over-ear, Bluetooth wireless noise-cancelling headphone that packs an impressive list of features.

The only minor disappointment in the new platinum edition is that it only offers a fresh coat of paint on the classic headphone that launched in 2015 in black or white. Now, JBL lets you choose a slick new platinum hue to honor its 70th platinum anniversary. It would have been nice to see some new feature or acoustic improvement to set the Platinum edition apart from its predecessors, but JBL would be hard pressed to improve on the Everest Elite 700 while maintaining its price range. The JBL Everest Elite 700 can be found for around $250 these days.  How do they sound? Read on to find out…

2017 Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50 Review

Special edition versions of the Mercedes-AMG GT have been popping up with increasing frequency recently, and the 2017 Geneva Motor Show is all set to host the latest one of them.

Fresh off of introducing the AMG GT C Coupe Edition 50 at the North American International Auto Show last month, the German automaker is bringing the AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50. It’s a limited-run version of the rear-wheel drive GT C Roadster and comprises Mercedes-AMG’s Geneva-bound, special edition offerings to celebrate the performance division’s 50th anniversary.

As you might expect, the AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50 features plenty of exclusive features, including unique color and trim combinations to go with fancy individual design touches. Additionally, the limited-run sports car also gets an extended range of standard equipment, enough at least to justify it special edition status.

Nokia 6 vs Nokia 5 vs Nokia 3: What’s the difference?

Nokia has announced three Android devices as the company begins its fight back into smartphones. Announced at Mobile World Congress 2017, the line-up includes the Nokia 6 which launched in China earlier in 2017, and new Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 models slipping in below.

These aren’t designed to take on flagship phones like the HTC 10 or Samsung Galaxy S7, these are designed to cut into the belly of Android, offering quality phones to those in the €100-300 price bracket and doing so while still offering quality.

Here’s how the specs of these phones break down. Here’s exactly what the difference is.

Hands on: Huawei Watch 2 Classic review

The photos in this review are supplied by Huawei, as, while we have handled the Huawei Watch 2 Classic, Huawei was worried about leaks so didn’t allow us to take photos until now. We’ll be updating this review with our own hands-on shots very soon.

The Huawei Watch was one of the best of the original batch of Android Wearwatches, despite being one of the more expensive options, and now the company is back with two new wearables at MWC 2017 in Barcelona.

There’s the Huawei Watch 2 as the headline device with LTE baked in, while the Huawei Watch 2 Classic is the junior, and presumably cheaper device.

Along with the Watch 2 the Watch 2 Classic is one of the first Android Wear 2.0 devices on the market, making it a tempting option for your wrist.

Hands on: New Nokia 3310 (2017) review

If any phone can sell itself on nostalgia alone, that phone is the Nokia 3310.

It’s one of the most popular mobiles of all time, remembered for its near-indestructible build, long-lasting battery and legendary Snake (well Snake II if we’re being accurate) game, and the team licensing the Nokia phone name has jumped at the chance to reignite the love for a phone which was once the leader in the mobile market.

Enter the new Nokia 3310, a lovingly crafted homage to the iconic handset with a helping of modern-day upgrades. If you were a fan of the 3310, the likelihood is you’ll want to pick this up.

2017 Lamborghini Huracán Spyder By O.CT Tuning Review

While the collective population of the auto industry is transfixed at the imminent arrival of the Lamborghini Huracán Spyder Performante, the aftermarket tuning scene continues to move along, busy as ever in its attempt to create the next great tuning program. One tuner in particular probably doesn’t even have the Huracán Spyder Performante on its list since it just concluded developing a program for the standard Huracán Spyder. Yep, take a look at this new tuning kit from O.CT Tuning for the roofless Huracán that puts the supercar’s output up to an incredible 794 horsepower and 597 pound-feet of torque.

Even by aftermarket standards, those numbers are beyond reproach for a car like the Lamborghini Huracán Spyder. It doesn’t have that much in the way of exterior and interior upgrades, but with numbers like that, I think O.CT Tuning can be excused for focusing its attention on the Huracán Spyder’s all-natural 5.2-liter V-10 engine.

Nokia 3 review : Hands-on and first impressions of Nokia’s budget smartphone

The Nokia 3 was announced at MWC 2017. It’s a budget Android smartphone that’s well built

Nokia is back with a bang. The Finnish company, which was founded back in 1865, is jumping on the Android ship, and we’re all glad to see one of the most well-known smartphone manufacturers back in the market. Its 2011 move to produce only Windows Phone products was a decision that ultimately killed the brand, as it didn’t entice users to buy into the ecosystem.

Nokia ending up selling its entire mobile business to Microsoft in 2014, until HMD Global, a company set up by veteran Nokia members, bought the rights to use the Nokia brand in May 2016 until 2024. This move and split, allows the brand to remain in consumer minds, while it also opens to avenues into the Android world.

On 26 February 2017, at Barcelona, Nokia brought the Nokia 3, 5, 6 and a retro 3310 to the market. The Nokia 3 being the cheapest Android smartphone at around £119/$178.

Huawei P10 preview: The lean, green photo machine

It’s not often a phone is revealed in a green colour finish. Or “greenery” to give it full credit. Which, as it so happens, is Pantone’s colour of the year 2017. Huawei is oh so on trend.

Not that offering a green finish is the Huawei P10’s biggest sell (other colours are available too). This 5.1-inch iPhone-a-like has all of the company’s latest smarts on board, including dual camera technology, updated EMUI 5.1 software, the top-spec Kirin 960 processor and a newly front-positioned fingerprint scanner.

Does all that add up to make the Huawei P10 the handset people are going to want to buy in 2017?

Mazda MX-5 RF vs Mazda MX-5 comparison : Hard top or soft? It’s the age-old question even Mazda can’t answer

If you have about $45-50k to spend on a convertible, there aren’t many good choices. The default pick is, of course, the Mazda MX-5, and as we discussed previously, it would be our pick over its Italian cousin, the Abarth 124, but now there is a new MX-5, one which throws mud at tradition and seeks to attract a new type of buyer to the brand.

Mazda MX-5 RF vs Mazda MX-5 comparison

The question has to be asked. Why do you need a Mazda MX-5 hardtop? The soft top MX-5 does the job of a convertible better than any other car in its price range, and perhaps even better than cars twice its price.

It’s rear-wheel drive, super light and comes with enough power to keep you interested. For some, though, a soft top is just not an option, it’s hardtop or nothing. Enter the Mazda MX-5 RF.

These cars are all but identical from the front.

HiFiMan Edition S Headphones First Look Review

HiFiMan is a hard one to pin down. True, they’re best known for their high-end, advanced-technology planar-magnetic headphones like the $2,999 HE1000. Most HiFiMan headphones are planar designs, but this new one, Edition S, is a more conventional dynamic headphone, albeit one with a rather unusual feature: It’s an open- or closed-back design. Say what? Let me explain. Each earcup has a removable cover; with them in place, Edition S is a closed-back design, and since the covers are held in place by strong magnets, it takes just a few seconds to remove the covers, converting Edition S into an open-back design! The magnets are very strong, so I can’t imagine the covers would ever accidently fall off.

Edition S is also HiFiMan’s first on-ear design. All of their other full-size headphones are larger, overthe-ear models. Edition S features 50mm drivers, whereas most on-ear and even overthe-ear headphones run 40mm drivers. While many of the older HiFiMan headphones had round earcups, the Edition S’s cups are “ear shaped.” I also liked that this lightweight design has a hinged headband so it can be folded into a compact bundle.

Fujinon MK18-55 T2.9 cine lens : First impressions and shooting experience

Setting up the Fujinon MK18-55mm T2.9 cine lens with the Sony FS7 and Zacuto rig. (I accidentally left the matte box back at the office. Shh… don’t tell anyone.)

Fujifilm is a respected name in the photography world thanks in part to its highly regarded X-series cameras and lenses. However, Fujifilm is also a major player in the professional cinema market, producing cinema lenses with prices that reach upward of $90,000. The company is now extending its cinema expertise into what it calls the ‘emerging production’ market: users who need capabilities and features beyond what’s available in standard DSLR or mirrorless lenses, but who don’t have a budget to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a single lens.

The Fujinon MK18-55mm T2.9 cinema lens is the first in Fujifilm’s new MK line of Super 35 lenses designed specifically for this market. It will be joined later in the year by the matching MK50-135mm T2.9 lens, giving users complete coverage of the very useful 18-135mm range of focal lengths.

2017 Porsche 718 Cayman By TechArt Review

My colleague, Jonathan Lopez, made a compelling argument on why the Geneva Motor Show is the best annual auto show in the world. I wholeheartedly concur. At the very least, it’s without question the biggest and most attended auto show as automakers from all over the world showcase their latest wares, and in many cases, preview what’s to come. Aftermarket tuners are also heavily involved in Geneva with their new tuning programs and this year’s Geneva is no different with the likes of TechArt bringing with it a new tuning kit for the Porsche 718 Cayman.

As one of the industry’s leading tuners with anything related to Stuttgart’s finest, TechArt’s portfolio of Porsche tuning programs is as good as it gets. It’s worked on just about every iteration and variant of the 911. It also has experience working with the Panamera and Porsche’s two SUVs, the Cayenne and the Macan. Now, the German tuner is setting its sights on the newest member of the Cayman family with an extensive aftermarket upgrade program that tackles all important aspects of the sports car. Exterior upgrades? Check. Interior appointments? Check. Engine update? Check. Chassis and wheels? Check and check.

2017 Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe S By Fostla Review

In standard configuration, the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe S packs a mean punch. It’s powered by a 5.5-liter bi-turbo V-8 engine that spits out 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds to go with an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph. By most metrics, those numbers add up to a car that’s as potent as they come. Then again, that sentiment doesn’t mean much when you’re talking about a tuner like Fostla whose business has always been about giving cars like the AMG S63 Coupe S more power at their disposal. And so, the German tuner is here to present its latest tuning kit, a walloping program for the high-performance Merc that comes with an increased output of 740 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque.

The numbers are attention-grabbing, but they’re not the only things worth mentioning about this program. It also has some snazzy visual effects meant to bring out more personality out of the AMG S63 Coupe S. There are also a new set of wheels and tires that Fostla received from aftermarket peer Prior Design.

Falcon Northwest FragBox Review : $5,000 Worth of Awesome

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Falcon Northwest FragBox

There are plenty of high-end gaming PCs that support monstrous graphics cards and lush paint jobs, but not many of them are made for the road. That’s where Falcon Northwest’s FragBox comes in. This travel-minded desktop ($2,145 to start, $4,848 as configured) is as portable as it is powerful, thanks to a handy carrying handle and support for the latest Intel Core processors and up to two high-end Nvidia graphics cards. Add in some eye-catching custom paint options, and you’ve got a premium 4K and VR-ready gaming machine that will look great either in your living room or on the way to your next LAN event.

Design

The Falcon Northwest FragBox is probably the most aptly named PC I’ve ever reviewed — it’s literally a big, travel-friendly rectangular box that packs a ton of high-end gaming power inside. Our model shipped in a shiny coat of cherry-red paint — which, combined with the sleek curve of the system’s carrying handle — makes it look like the gaming desktop equivalent of a compact sports car. The glowing, etched-in Falcon logo on the front is a nice extra touch.

Chromebooks tend to be the laptop du jour for schools, which is why they need to be very durable to withstand the rigors of education. The notebook doesn’t get straight A’s, though, as its keys aren’t as pry-proof as claimed and the display is on the dim side. Still, the 11 N7 C731T is worth considering, as it solves most of the problems the classroom throws at it.

Inside, the notebook has a simple layout with an island-style keyboard, buttonless touchpad and a less-textured deck.
