Of course, both of them take advantage of the new GeForce GTX 1070 which is accompanied by an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor. The latter is more than powerful enough not to bottleneck the GPU performance. For example, at max settings, the new Rise of the Tomb Raider utilizes just about 30% of the CPU, while the video card is used at 100% throughout the whole time.

We have chosen configurations with 16GB DDR4 RAM (2133 MHz) and 1TB HDD + 256 GB SSD NVMe – we found these at the same price of ~2000 EUR in Europe, but chances are they’ll be much cheaper in the USA . The two notebooks support M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe, but Predator 17 has a little advantage – it has two M.2 slots, one 2280 and one 22110.

Predator 17 and ASUS G752 have configurations with Ultra HD (4K) screens, but the models we have chosen are equipped with Full HD IPS panels and G-Sync support. We’ve already showed you that GTX 1070 can handle 4K resolutions with the latest games, but we’d prefer using an external monitor.

Acer Predator 17 and ASUS G752 weigh around 4.0 kg and have 8-cell 88Wh batteries but we should check their endurance first, before making conclusions. G752 has better chances, though, since the new Predators don’t have integrated GPUs and that reflects on the battery life.

As you can see, Predator 17 and G752 have very similar specifications so this time it’s very hard to predict the winner. That’s why we’ve already ordered the new G752 so you can expect its detailed review soon.
