We have recently reviewed another CIVILTOP laptop, but it came to our way as a budget notebook sporting a business look. This time we’re going to take our hands on a device full of awesome features making the M651FB to write down its name by golden letters.

Design

Honestly, when the CIVILTOP M651FB is not turned on and the logo is covered with something, almost everyone will think they are dealing with an Apple MacBook. Thus almost everything reminds us elements of Apple’s popular product. First, it comes in the same color as the MacBook, a silver-white. But as you remember this laptop should be come to our way in champagne gold as well. Seems the developers and designers have borrowed everything we saw in the prototype.

Second, the CIVILTOP M651FB is very slim and light. It comes in dimensions of 32.50 x 21.90 x 1.80 cm and weighs only 1.473 kg. Remember we said the CIVILTOP S643 is one of the lightest laptops, forget what I said – this devices is the way lighter, thus it is more comfortable when taking it to somewhere. As you noticed, it’s very slim, its height even doesn’t reach 2cm.

The DC Jack, USB 2.0 port and 3.5 mm headphone jack are located on the left side of the laptop, while the right side carries the SD card, Type-C, mini HDMI and USB 3.0 slots. As you see there is no CD driver coming with this laptop, and as I like to say, ultrabooks doesn’t have CD drivers, otherwise they wouldn’t be slim.

The keyboard is a matter of taste, because the area keys are located on is concave to make the key be at the same height as the overall palm rest. But as you see the keys are made of a very affordable material, so you won’t feel any inconvenience when typing.

As you can guess, the CIVILTOP M651FB comes with the backlit keyboard that allows users to type even with lights off. The touchpad is placed the bottom center area of the panel. And finally, the 2MP camera for video calls are located above the 13.3 inch screen.

Personally, I like the design very much, because you won’t find anything that can annoy you. So no complaints in terms of design. Well done, folks!

Display and Internals

The CIVILTOP M651FB sports a 13.3 inch IPS screen at a resolution of 1920×1080. There is no reason to be surprised as it’s a gaming laptop and Full HD is required for many games popular nowadays.

As for the rest of the features, the laptop is powered with an Intel i5 dual-core 6200u CPU running at 2.3GHz frequency, though it can boost up to 2.8GHz turbo frequency. The CPU has a 64 bits architecture, so you should take this into account when installing an operating system and other software. As for pre-installed OS, it comes with DOS. This CPU was launched a year ago, but it still remains one of the best gaming chips. Its price is about $300, so now you know why this laptop can’t be called budget. Working hand by hand with Intel HD 520 1GB graphics and 4GB DDR3L RAM it provides a great performance even when launching heavy games with powerful effects. It also supports 4K at 60Hz.

The laptop also comes packed with a 500GB SATA HDD that provides 5400R/M rotation speed.

Besides the standard connectivity options like 802.11b/g/n wireless internet, WLAN/LAN cards, and Bluetooth 4.0, the device has a 6300mAh battery that is enough to keep the laptop charged even if you play your favorite games up to 4 hours.

Conclusion

CIVILTOP is a popular laptop brand among those who is interested in these products. We regularly take a glance at some products it launches. As I said at the beginning of the post the CIVILTOP M651FB is not a budget laptop like the S643. It’s a mid-class gaming laptop that looks like a MacBook. If you want to acquire a high-end gaming laptop there is another offer coming from this brand, the CIVILTOP G672FB.

As for our hero, this laptop caused mixed feelings for me – on one hand, we are dealing with a notebook that sports quite affordable features and is ready to provide a perfect performance (sounds symbolically three P-provides perfect performance). On the other hand, the CIVILTOP M651FB is available at about $600. So many people will ask themselves whether this laptop deserves those dollars. Honestly, I don’t know, but you can check out the hands-on photos made by those who have already get it and look quite satisfied.
