It’s not even a gaming PC

ASUS has refreshed their Zenbook Pro notebook during COMPUTEX today. Aside from the expected processor refresh and a swanky looking exterior, the two versions of their newest notebook sport a surprising new feature: a 5.5-inch IPS touchpad that doubles as a secondary screen.

ASUS swapped out the mundane, boring looking trackpad for a 5.5-inch color IPS display that can double as a secondary display. You can extend your screen to the smaller display, use it as toolbox of sorts for easier access to shortcuts, as well as assign a different function to the ScreenPad (as ASUS is calling it) like a calculator.

ASUS is working on getting more ScreenPad apps from the Windows store to extend functionality so the new feature doesn’t end up as being just a clever gimmick.

The 15.6-inch model gets a 4K UHD touchscreen that has 100% Adobe RGB coverage, 8th Gen Intel Core i9 hexa-core processor, along with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU, up to 16GB of 2400MHz DDR4 RAM, up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage, plus a fingerprint sensor and Thunderbolt 3 support. The smaller 14-inch version gets a full HD touchscreen display, 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor , NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q, up to up to 16GB of 2400MHz DDR4 RAM, up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage and an IR camera.
