Acer Switch 12 S revealed with Intel RealSense camera onboard

This week Acer has revealed the Acer Switch 12 S with a 12.5-inch IPS display and options for either 4K of Full HD (1080p) resolution). This notebook rolls with a 2-in-1 design and has a full anodized aluminum chassis with what Acer calls a “sleek, uninterrupted modern look”. This is paired with patented ExoAmp antenna technology which keeps the notebook in stable, reliable Wi-fi regardless of aluminum exterior.

This notebook has a Gorilla Glass 4 display cover glass and Zero Air Gap technology for reduced glare and maximum viewing angles. The removable tablet bit of this machine has an Intel RealSense Camera R200 onboard – on its rear – allowing users to capture movements for 3D modeling or 3D scanning of object of all sorts.

The Acer Aspire Switch 12 2-in-1 notebook works with the latest in Intel Core M processor technology (that’s 6th gen, at this point). It’ll be coming with a single USB 3.1 Type-C Thunderbolt 3 connector (as well as the rest of its ports, and three microphones for clear voice – Acer also employs their own Purified.Voice technology for clarity here.

This notebook has front-facing speakers with Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby Audio Premium technology. Also up front is an HD webcam (1280 x 720) for Skype, Cortana, and the rest.

The Acer Aspire Switch 12 S will become available inside North America starting in February. There it’ll cost $999.99 and on upward.
